Help... How do I empty the Slime of Replication to alter the contents?

This left me puzzled. I am using a Slime of Replication to duplicate fossils. I just obtained a Red Beryl gem, which I want to put in the replicator, to replace the current fossil. I need to find out how to switch out the product being duplicated, but right click on mouse doesn't do anything useful, and hitting it with a pickaxe has no effect either.

I know I can move it around with the architect desk, but I'm hoping one of you lovely peeps knows how to empty the contents.

You need to let it run its cycle and finish duplicating what you put in, you cant, 'abort' a duplication. Empty it normally once its done, if it has gotten 'stuck' you wait for a new day, press and reload the game from the load game menu.
Depending on what you need. These are what you need to do.

Rats... that means a long wait, as it's got ten fossils in process right now...

Yup, same as any machine (except the dehydrator), you have to let it finish the cycle. We've put in suggestions many times to have all the machines have the same UI as the dehydrator, but I don't think it will happen.

to be honest, i wouldn't want every machine to have the same ui as a dehydrator. it means that each time loading up a machine i will have to open and then close a separate window.
