Worth putting wine back in the Ageing Barrel to up the quality?
Anyone done some testing on the time vs value with the ageing barrels?

The new mechanic that allows us to keep putting bottles back in, to improve the quality, is great. I plan on taking osmium wine to the next 'battle' with Bobby. That should take the grin of his face, and send him running back to daddy LOL

However, given the cost of building each barrel, the number of days each cycle takes, and that the space to locate the barrels is not infinite, is it better just to sell the first batch that you get, and not bother putting it back in again?

I'm sitting on the fence atm, and wonder if any of you lovely peeps have an opinion on this?

It isn't actually a new mechanic, it's always been there. It's why so many people report the aging barrels not finishing as a 'bug', but what's actually happening is the auto chests are cycling the products right back in again to up the quality.

Also, don't stress making osmium wine for Bobby. For example, osmium apple juice and osmium apple wine are worth the same points without all the work.

As to whether it's worth it or not, that's really just up to you. If you have the space and the resources, why not? Just set it and forget it and pop in every two weeks to check on it all.

Yes, that's why you can only put the same quality items in at the same time. (Another thing people keep trying to report as a 'bug'.)

Thanks Piper, wish I'd known this a year ago :steamfacepalm:
Ageing barrels takes way too much time in this game , and with the amount of time it takes it should have been able to age more than only 3 items at times . just seems waste of time and resources given how many day it takes to age .

...

Good to know that it's not the Aging Barrels (or Solar Panels, or...), but the Automated Chests - that I'm not using - that are the real issue.

I've been banging on about the bugged auto-chests ever since they were first introduced way back in distant memory. I've lost count of the number of save files, videos and screenshots I've sent to Stairway. I've even had email correspondence back and forth.

The auto-chests are now better than they were at launch, but a long way from being fixed. I'm beginning to lose faith in the ability of the programmers, and I'm wondering if they bit off more than they can chew with Coral Island. It takes a lot of talent, skill and experience to debug games, and I think they've hit a glass ceiling with this one.

Don't get me wrong, I adore this game and I'm happy to keep on playing, as the positives easily outweigh the negatives. I wouldn't have put 1,000 hours into it if I wasn't having fun...
