Golden egg and golden milk?

I'm only getting large golden eggs and milk. So I'm assuming I have to win the contest with a chicken/cow with a lower heart rating? Does anybody know how many hearts I should aim for to get the normal-sized drops?

Let the animals out in the rain, theyll get mad and temporarily lowert their size from Large to regular

You pretty much have to set up a torture barn/coop. Move them there, don't pet them, don't let them out. You can't lower their hearts, but if they get into a bad enough mood they'll give you a small product.

It's funny because I only did one day of getting them out of the coop/barn during winter while removing the auto-petter for good measure.

They immediately gave the regular milk/eggs the next day.

I just bought another cow and chicken. Why stop the golden eggs when you can sell them. :)

I let my animals out on a rainy day and it worked. The Discord said that there's a 40% chance of the animals producing a lower quality item if they're "unhappy". I never noticed that the little notecard in the barn tells you the animals' mood.

Buying a new cow and chicken doesn't get you small golden milk and eggs though. It has to be a cow and chicken that won the animal contest, which needs higher heart levels to win.
