Deep Forest blocked after unlocking

I got a cutscene showing a bunch of boulders going away then a notification that the deep forest had unlocked. However when I go left of the monkey seller, or try to cross the stone bridge from the mid forest, stones still block my path in both ways. My pickax doesn't do anything to them. Is there another step or is this a bug? How do I access this deep forest I supposedly unlocked?

Just saw the same thing, looks like the scene mistakenly plays at 12 alters, but resources say it actually unlocks at 14 alters.

I am having a similar issue, I got the cutscene and it says in my town stats that I have deep forest access but still cannot get into it

ahh same here, I wondered why it said it unlocks at 14 when I got the notification after 12. The stone wont budge.
