I quit Sun Haven when I learned I needed to make a 2nd entirely new farm. Wow. Okay, dropped this game too.
I have sun haven...there's a 3rd farm...(that's when I've quit it btw)
By the time you unlock the underwater farm, your regular farm is mostly automated and doesn't require much work.
This dilemma is the same with Stardew Valley getting the Ginger Island. Which was solved in the same way: teleport points.
Okay, good to know. I just got burned in Sun Haven, with the massive grind.
To Coral Island's credit, automation is one of its strengths mechanically (and you can slow down time), so it's far better able to handle it than a much more frantic game like Stardew.
I think stardew is OK too though, since sprinklers are very easy to make...I haven't reached the underwater farm in this game yet but from what is saw it looks alright
Sun Haven though...oh boy...there 3 town with 3 different currencies and 3 different farms and each has it's own mechanics...it's the DK64 of farming games...
The advantage Coral Island has over Stardew in this regard is that it makes it a lot easier to get to the higher-end automation earlier in the game. If you grind to the merfolk kingdom early, it's a lot easier to manufacture a lot of high-quality sprinklers with a minimum of effort; Stardew requires you to do deep Skull Cavern runs in order to get Iridium Sprinklers without having to pay 10,000g to Krobus every Friday to get one.
Credit where it's due, if it weren't for the bugs, Coral Island would be one of the best farming games on a purely mechanical basis. On the bright side, most of the improvements in quality-of-life can be found in Stardew's wonderful UI Info Suite mod.
I spend half my day wandering around doing other stuff, I can't wait to get the second farm so I can be super busy again.
