Tried joining today, does not seem to offer the option anymore?
Actually they DID promised to release the 1.1 patch in the first half of the year, not in this statement though. It was when the 1.1 release turned out to be a beta test, people asked about a time for the formal release and got a formal answer from the team. A bit later than that, one player claimed to get a date through email, saying 1.1 patch would be there by July 1st, turned out to be a statement instead.
Can you show us exactly where they told people it would be out july 1st? Because I can assure you they never once said that. And I don't believe for a moment they emailed someone and told them a date, when they never told anyone else. Being in the beta test, we knew there was absolutely no way the update was releasing by then.
If it would be early access your message would be ok and I would say this game has great "potential" and makes a lot of fun by now and the beta release could be somewhere 2025.
now its sowhat alpha (google the definition of alpha)
Now they have the issue of releasing a half game, where they can't change so much like in early access (savegame compat., logicissues of backported events and quests, ....) which additionally slows down the progress and limits the devs capabilities.
I guess they just shot way too early and this is the impact.
I think your message is very ignorant:
There are people who bought this game in the last 6 month with the expactation of a Retail Game and not to reread the Developers whishlist every 2 month and feel the impacts of a Mangers Dream to layoff QA to Fans.
The devs clearly stated "the v1.1 update is targeted to be in the first half of this year." It's right here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1158160/eventcomments/4355620303681738085?snr=2_groupannouncements_detail_&ctp=5#c4337608555588101768
TARGETED
Not promised or announced. They certainly hoped to have it out by then. Testing turned out otherwise.
I have my own gripes about the 1.0 release but I think your point is perfectly valid. The release estimate in the comment was the furthest thing from a promise.
That said, it's kinda funny seeing you base your reply around the fact that it was "TARGETED" considering the first thing you said in this thread:
It's like the goalposts left the stadium and started a cross-country walkabout. The real people who weren't understanding were the friends they made along the way.
(Really though, the juxtaposition of your comments made me chuckle a bit right after a long work day. Thanks for that!)
Yeah but anyone who has been watching their work for the last 9 months would have easily known they are not capable of properly bug testing this game at any point or during any time in it's development history. Each patch has introduced at least as many bugs as it has fixed.
I like Coral Island but these devs are not impressive.
It's still probably worth the asking price and it's still on Game Pass but there's a lot of disappointment in this experience as well.
Feb 30, 2025.
Their previous betas have been 4-6 ish weeks. But this is not only a MUCH larger amount of content, it's also late game content. There's been a lot more to test then in previous betas. And while there are ways in the beta to just skip to late game content, we also need to play through to make sure everything is balanced and not too grindy. Also as we give feedback and the devs change things, those things need to be retested.
I'm on my third beta play through already, to test different changes.
We did target to release the 1.1 update the first half of this year, and the update is currently in progress. We will release it as soon as possible and announce it when the update is live on all of the supported platform, so stay tuned 😁
Great, thank you for the answer, I can't wait for the 1.1 release!
