It seems that June is over, is this game's update delay again?

If I had to guess based on what people have been saying about the beta, probably another month minimum.

"As soon as possible". They aren't even trying to give a target anymore, so best to settle in.

I'm not sure why people aren't understanding this, but they CAN'T give a date or a target for something they have no way of knowing. 1.1 is being tested. When testing is finished, it will be released. A lot of the beta is smooth and works great. Some of the beta is buggy still. Some of the beta badly needs some rebalancing. When that is done, it will release.

Well that's easy: it's totally fine to not know your project's update releasing date, but if you promised to deliver it in a period of time while failed to keep your promises too often, being asked is natural.

But they've never 'promised to deliver it in a period of time'. That's why they don't give dates. The only date they've ever given was for 1.0 release, and it released when they said it would. So it's not like they have a history of not delivering updates 'on time'.

They promised to release the full game in November last year, they didn't do it, then the missing content was supposed to be added in the first half of this year, again not met.

They promised to release 1.0, with a road map showing exactly what would be in 1.0, and they did. If for some reason people ignored that, and thought they would be or should be getting more than what they showed in the road map, that's on them.

They never stated it would be ready by the end of June.
Some users might have made up such a date, but the devs never did.

The official statement for v1.1 is:
Welcome to the June 2024 Coral Island development update!
Brought to you by Millie-meters <3

This month, you'll get a brief look at Multiplayer and the remaining details of what's to come in the 1.1 update! PLEASE NOTE: there are mid to late-game spoilers ahead.

The Coral Island "Story Finale: Land & Sea" 1.1 update is in progress, and we will release it as soon as possible. Stay tuned for updates!

They had previously said they had a target of the first half of the year for 1.1. But having a target doesn't mean 'WE WILL RELEASE BY THE END OF JUNE' like some people seem to have translated. It isn't a promised date. This beta is huge and is taking longer to test than they expected.

People are putting too much trust in release dates these days. It's better to assume something isn't coming any time soon than to hope for a quick release. With some other indie games it's the same problem so it's better for everyone to get used to it.

Indie games, nothing. AAA games even have that same problem.

Tell me three Legend of Zelda games that ever released right on the original target date. They're always getting delayed.

They can't give a target? They already DID give a target for it and that was first half of the year. That showed they at least had some belief that it might be ready within that time frame. Now they have abandoned that belief entirely with the 'it will be ready whenever' bit. This shows they have no clue at all anymore how long it will take and as such we users should not expect it anytime soon either.

Join the beta and help test, if you want it to go faster.

Does anyone have any clue when the game is going to be complete? I would play but it sounds like areas are accessible to complete some quests.

No thanks. I am not going to play the whole thing on test, just so I can replay the whole thing again on live. I would rather experience it all the first time (well all the late game story stuff) on my real game.

I don't have any problem with waiting. I am not upset that they failed to meet their target. Disappointed sure, but not upset. My bluntness is a just refusal to sugarcoat things. As I said, best to settle in.
