Providing you've been petting them every day, and they're happy, they should be producing truffles. They have to snuffle about in grass to find them. Usually every three days. In the winter the grass dies off, so I leave the pigs inside the barn during their non-productive days. If it's the right day to let them out I plant about 20 tiles of grass for them to rummage about in. That works for me...

OK, but that's not what Deputy said you needed. Are you letting the pig outside every day to eat grass in the yard?

If he's giving you white truffles, then you'll either need a new pig for black truffles, or you need to treat your pig poorly to drop down its mood and hope it gives you a black truffle.

Black truffles are the equivalent of small products. Once the pigs hearts are high enough, you'll get white truffles.
