Fishing Woes

I must be missing something. This feels like the worst and least rewarding activity in the game. Fortunately, I receive very little quests/errands involving it. But it just isn't fun. The minigame is fine, but the time it takes per catch is ridiculous. Time needs to pause for the minigame or something.

When I fish I feel like I have wasted my day. I catch a dozen fish or I could clear like 4 machines diving or I could make 5-10 levels in the next mine. The choice doesn't feel close.

Upgrade the fishing rod at the beach shack for faster reeling. The devs already removed the bug that stopped time when fishing sometimes. Fishing in this game is clearly meant for a catch them all collecting and specific requests instead of profit.

If you lower the game speed in the options menu that extends the time each day and so you can catch a lot more fish if you want that way, if your only catching 12 fish a day you should be able to catch more with game time slowed down

Well the pace of the game is fine for all other activities. And I'm still walking around, no horse. I'll go upgrade the rod and see if that changes things for me. So many games where the players love the side aspect of fishing and this is probably the first I've disliked.

This does get much easier as you level your rod and your skills. You do have to accept you're going to spend time and resources doing that. Personally, I hated the fishing in this game until I had done so. Now it's well, not a big deal anymore. What I don't like is that I'm still getting Pufferfish flyers too often even with an osmium rod and level 10 fishing skill and Pufferfish isn't even on the island anymore.

Upgraded to silver and started fishing. Gained a skill point in one day and fishing felt much better. Thanks for the advice, guys!
