Catching spiders

Is there some trick to this? Or is it a...... dare i say, bug? Lol. Using a gold net, with the ground bug bait, letting it walk up to me and using the net before it is alerted, it doesnt catch it. I can even run with it and try a couple more times but the net just goes through it like it's not there. So far they are the only thing giving me trouble.

Honestly when I got to the point of making the traps I just put around 10-15 traps around the map some areas I put 3 or 4 in same area and then let the traps catch the harder bugs like spiders, I did have the osmium net and still found bug catching hard for some bugs but you can also get perks that are meant to make catching easier but I just found traps the easiest way to go and they aren’t hard to make
