Wolf Spider
I'm in the second summer, day 11, town rank b, I have combed the forest and town for 11 nights in a row, and have not seen a wolf spider spawn. Am I doing something wrong?

If you have the computer unlocked at Ling's lab you can get the chip that will tell you where it spawns. Even with that though I was never able to see one. I ended up catching a few by placing traps. I remember one trap caught one by the teleport near the hot springs.

In winter of year 1 I usually try and spend some time making all the traps and putting them all over the map for ground and flying bugs and also in the ocean diving so in year 2 you can just let the traps catch all the ones you maybe missing by this point

Anyone know if breeding the wolf spider in an insect house would be counted as catching? I got mine from the trap and the insect list on my journal isn't adding up.

Strange, i got mine from a trap as well and it's marked as caught. Maybe another bug in the game?

Found mine after a few nights searching at the vineyard. It's a rare spawn, so patience is needed.

The wolf spider are very very rare and 95% of the time they are hiding in the hay grass. I suggest getting a computer with insect program and just check where it is. If its in some place just walk around slowly looking for white circle to appear. Took me 14 days since it appeared for the 1st time.

Wolf spiders are the same color as dirt. So besides being rare, tiny enough to hide in grass, and be super sensitive they also are tough to see right out in the open. Traps are the way to go unless you are dedicating several nights to hunting them. I checked all spawns for multiple days and probably saw 1 every other day. This is me combing the areas, catching everything, and starting over from 18:00 until midnight(checking respawns). At least half of the wolf spiders I saw they were already running away. Traps got them pretty quick, but I was determined to catch one in my net on that farm!

Oh, also wolf spiders and black widows have no animation. So that makes them hard to see even when they are moving since they just kind of slide around.

Hi! When you get the wolf spider in the trap, can you send us your saved or backup files so our team can examine them more closely?

You can access it under this file path:
- Saved File: C:\Users\ <username>\AppData\Local\ProjectCoral\Saved\SaveGames
- Backup File: C:\Users\ <username>\AppData\Local\ProjectCoral\Saved\SaveGames\Backup

You can send the files along with the video or screenshot of the issue to Support@Stairwaygames.com
Kindly write 'Requested Save File - Steam Discussion - [Steam username]' in the subject line.
Thank you so much!
