Let me add a few more insights: Apparently, all mines on level 15 and 25 spawn exactly 5 monsters each day, which makes it pretty easy to determine if there are big slimes or not. The big slimes do only spawn in the wind mine and fire mine. So far, in the fire mine, I had definitely more occurrences with two big slimes spawning. I haven't tracked the frequency, but it is like around every 6-8 days. So I only stay if I get two to spawn as it is much more effective. I also use bombs to clear most of the area and just for the rest - especially where the big slimes wander around - with the pickaxe so that I don't damage them. It is still a tedious skill to level, ngl. I guess if you are really desperate for some xp, you could just farm the 40 monsters on all the levels 15 and 25, however, for 20 monsters I measure only like a mean of 6 XP per monster or around 125 in total. So, you are better off, using the slime spawns. This also helps in farming slimes for the slime of replication ;)
CI is a good game, don't get me wrong. But even back during early access (which technically this still is) nerfing is what the devs seem best at. Lol.
