Crawler trap?

I've come to the conclusion that I don't know how to use those things. Even with the bait, I click in "interact" and nothing happens... does this thing works or there is a bug?

Yes it works, you need to wait it to catch the bug (there's indicator) and you collect the bug.

Traps catch bugs while you sleep, using a bait on them gives 100% chance to catch a bug that can be encountered in that area otherwise you only have a chance it contains one the next day

Oh... maybe I didn't catch anything yet. Is there a chance of the critter escaping from the trap if I don't get it? lol.. it's strange. It's been several days and nothing.

How do you place it though? it always says cant use...

The crawler trap specifically is for underwater. You can't place it on land. It's for ocean critters that walk along the bottom.
