Could you consider revising the Heart Event cutscene stories?
Could you consider revising the Heart Event cutscene stories? They are rather dull and lack a connection between characters and spouses. Whoever planned these stories might want to rethink them. They lack the romantic element. I suggest revisiting games like Harvest Moon BTN & Stardew for inspiration. I'm disappointed because you've created a great game, but the storytelling is tediously uninteresting. Why not learn from the success of other farming games? I've never skipped cutscenes in other farming games, but in Coral, I find myself doing it often.

For instance, Why not try this storyline for the Heart Events 1-8?

Mark
He is searching for his lost dog, and we join him in the search until we find it. Together, we take the dog for treatment. Once it's healed, Mark shares the story behind the scar on his forehead from his past, a somewhat sad tale. Afterwards, Mark expresses his desire to protect everything important to him. In the final Heart Event, the dog, now fully recovered, runs and accidentally knocks us over while leaping towards Mark. Both of us end up embarrassed, but Mark playfully pretends to have a cramp and says he wants to stay like this for a little longer.

Surya
He is struggling to study Kept but encounters problems. We step in to assist with the experiment. The first time, it's at the Lab. The next time, he presents his research work at his home. In the final Heart Event, he successfully completes his study and inadvertently hugs us, not realizing it at first. This leaves both of us feeling embarrassed.

Scott
He has a passion for running a museum. After we help him with a campaign in the main storyline, his Heart Events 1-8 should involve exercising. He talks about his reasons for working out, shows off his physique, and invites us to join him. Then, he finds an ancient journal about an artifact and invites us on a search for it (not just a boring, regular visit to see dinosaur fossils in a room). This includes looking for certain artifacts together. Finally, he plans a playful ruse during another artifact hunt, possibly dusting off a dinosaur skeleton. But this time, he surprises us with a letter hidden in the excavation, expressing his feelings that he couldn’t directly share, as a way to thank us. He then presents us with a heart-shaped artifact before moving on to the last two Heart Events.

Theo
He might be similar to Sam in Stardew Valley. He plays music and teaches us. He asks us to suggest a song for him to compose. Ultimately, he invites us to watch his performance at a restaurant. In the final event, he takes us to an event in a different town, creating a much more memorable experience than searching for a piano in a community junkyard.

Waku
Waku is someone who loves stargazing. In his Heart Event, he doesn't get along with his father. However, we step in to help his father understand Waku's passion for the stars. We also help Waku understand his father's concerns. After this, Waku's father invites us to go fishing together, and Waku suggests that his father join him in stargazing. Both learn from each other, creating a touching story (much better than the annoying, never-ending arguments created by the team). Finally, Waku invites us to stargaze with him, and we witness a shooting star, which delights Waku immensely. It's like a magical moment for him. He thanks us for helping bridge the understanding between him and his father, comparing us to a comet that brightens his life. Then, Waku embraces our character, causing us to blush and feel embarrassed, and the event concludes beautifully.

Sameru,
The adventurous shark, initially dislikes us and frequently picks fights in a fit of anger. His background reveals that he was nearly killed by humans on land, leading to his mistrust. Later, he deviously plans to take us on a dangerous mission to fight monsters in an underwater cave, but ends up getting injured himself. We treat his wounds and take him to the mermaid town for recovery. While on the healing bed, Sameru apologizes, confesses his ill intentions towards us, and faints. Once he recovers, he offers us a ride on his back to his stunningly beautiful secret underwater garden. He opens up his heart and gives us his beloved spear as a symbol of our blossoming friendship. The event culminates in a romantic kiss between us. It's incredibly romantic. Could such a storyline actually exist?

And The last :)) the process of accumulating Combat Skills is painfully frustrating. The game isn't designed for extensive, thrilling combat, nor does it feature a vast array of monsters. Requiring players to amass such a large amount of combat experience feels like a tedious burden, forcing them into unenjoyable battles.

Since the game has been released, I must express my views as a consumer who has supported you in every aspect and had high expectations. I am disappointed, but I still hope for improvements.
Thank you. ♥

I actually don't mind that the heart events aren't romantic. I have a lot of villagers that I just want to be friends with and it's always been kind of a turnoff in previous games that interacting with people and gaining hearts triggers romantic scenes when I'm...just trying to be friendly. I like the idea of saving romantic scenes for 8+ hearts or once you give the locket.

Agreed.

The 1-7 heart events def should not be romantic. All that will do is turn off people who don't want romance, or don't want romance with certain people, and will simply discourage them from leveling up those people to avoid the scenes.

Take a look around the BG3 forums some time and look at all the people complaining about 'forced' or 'gay' romance being not the player's choice. Now imagine the same people who throw fits about the flag at the town hall or the 'mx' choice in character creator being upset because Mark is 'hitting on them' at 4 hearts.

Leave romance behind hearts 8-10, where the player can choose if they want that or not, and who they want that with, using the locket.
