peafowl not dropping feathers?

so, i have my peafowl for a week already but it has yet to drop a feather. do you need a certain number of hearts for it to produce or is it a bug? i had the same issue with one of my ducks before, after a week or so it stopped laying eggs lol

I haven't had a problem with peafowl but I did have the egg laying issue. I ended up having to sell it and buy a new animal.

Hi developer, I found the issue with peafowl dropping feather. It is not like dropping eggs which you can always pick up later days. Peafowl won't drop any feather overnight, instead, you will have to stand in the coop for a while and wait for the peafowl to drop the feather. Unless you are using a auto collector, you will have to be there watching them dropping feathers.

14 days old, dropped 1 feather sofar.
Has 4 hearts and a autopetter so always happy

16 days old , and only dropped 2feathers.. I think you have to fixed this..

Well this explains why this happened to me as well. I removed my auto collector in order to gain some more ranching experience. Then I noticed even at 10 hearts the peafowls would not leave any feathers in the coop. So, I placed the auto collector again and built two more coops with chickens for xp and the peafowls started to produce regularly again.

My peafowl is 30+ days old and happy, 9 hearts. Hasn't dropped a feather yet.

sometimes it feels like it needs to "see" you to register days go by. i tried letting it outside of coop except on rainy days, at it seems to drop more. still not what tooltip says but more reliable than letting it stay in coop all the time.
Need confirmation on this though.

I'm having the same issue, 21 days, 6 hearts, no feathers. Been letting them out daily and searching inside and out.

From my experience, there are certain animals that require being outdoors in grass to produce. I know that pigs and luwaks need grass to find truffles and drop gesha coffee beans. This is annoying during winter because I have to buy grass seed from Sam's throughout the winter so I can replenish the barnyard grass a bit every day. Good thing it's cheap. I don't let the animals out in rain or snow. It's possible that the peafowl also produce best when outdoors in grass? I have two and I never find feathers inside the coop.
