Es Cendol - wasted ingredients

I tried to make Es Cendol for the goddess quest and according to the Wiki, I'm to use the Ceramic Bowls. Tried it and got failed recipes all times (and used up my meager supply of maple syrup). So, what kitchen equipment to I try next - after I can get more syrup?

You make Es Cendol with Rice Flour, any Coconut and Syrup (not maple syrup) in the ceramic bowl. You can make Syrup by putting sugar cane in the cheese press.

Oh, so you don't use maple syrup. Thanks a bunch! I had no idea there was another type of syrup.

you can use Tofu, made from soy beans as a substitute for cheese.
Stuff soy beans in cheese press and sell your 2k+ goat cheese wheels instead of making lasagna with them :)
