Can't collect Mayor's hat

Hi, I don't know if many people encountered this bug (I've only seen one person on reddit report it) but I found the Mayor's hat on the beach and no button appears when I want to pick it up. I can't finish the quest :-(

Where is the hat exactly? I totally forgot I had this quest.

if you are playing on steam use your mouse to pick it up, since gamepad control seem to be bugged

I had the same problem on the steam deck, but was able to pick it up after restarting the game. Provided the hat is always in the same place, it's on the beach sand, almost as far east as you can get. Where Paul hangs out some mornings.

Had the same issue, had to stand one or 2 tiles away to grab it.

I've collected it, but I got THREE HATS.
Now I have 2 mayor hats that I cant use nor throw away. I put them on a chest in my house because I dunno what to do with them

Hi, I had this issue while playing with a PS4 controller. It turns out that the button prompt for picking up the hat only activates when you're standing right next to the rock in front of the hat, which means the rock blocks the prompt's text box from showing up at all.

You just have to keep wedging yourself against the rock while you press the interact button until the hat finally pops into your inventory.

You clearly need to figure out how to dupe a few copies of the mayor.

I can't even figure out how to stop the game from crashing. I'll just wait for the devs to fix this

I found the hat and when I picked up it I got tqo hats. Gave one to Mayor and stuffed the other in a chest. Went back to the chest and now I've found 4....HELP!
