Farmhouse INDOOR - we really need a HUGE change here 🏠
Hello,

let's - please - talk about the famrhouse INDOOR (house stage 4.). I visited all the other houses in town and saw the WONDERFUL, incredible, affectionate indoor of this houses. And than I went back home to my farmhouse and I was depressed when I saw the indoor rooms. 😿

Could we PLEASE leave here the "Stardew Valley"- PATH and go on to the Coral-Island direction? You have so wonderful ideas. You don't need to copy SV (anymore). The indoor of SV farmhouse was nice in 2016 for a pixel game.
But Coral Island is so mutch more than this now, and we are in 2024 soon. You have proven with this incredible underwater content / ideas how great your ideas and your imagination is.

The Farmhouse indoor must be larger (downstairs and upstairs). There should be something like an entrance area (like in Lily&Jim&Theo's house). Kitchen, dinning room, large living room. Or even a bureau 💻 , a library or a guest-room.
And upstairs we really need a minimum of 4 bedrooms: 2 children rooms (IF we want children), bedroom parents and spousse room.
And we need (please) more possibilities to make our OWN rooms. Create our own kitchen. 🔪 Have just more space and possibilities.

And please: NO CHILDREN ROOMS anymore! Give us the children-furniture to buy in the shop but don't force people to have two children rooms they don't want and need. There are probably player out there who don't even want children. Or just one child ...
Also the spousse room is not sooo mutch my personal taste ... Here also, I feel forced.

🚽 PS: My little dream still: Bathrooms with shower or bathtub and a toilet for everybody! 🛀

+ 1,000,000 to that, OP.

It is terribly dispiriting to be so limited in the player's housing when all the houses around town are amazing. Maybe down the road when the game's more stable they'll take a look at redesigning the house upgrades.

P l e a s e - 100% yes
I would totes want kids but the idea of it feeling forced for others and the whole lay out thing is just n o - not everyone wants kids, the layout of the whole upgrades need changing please. However the spouse having their own area to chill / work from is cute imo -

Seeing the houses around the island and coming back to my crap shack - a bit of a bummer lol ;-;

Maybe you could play like The Sims. Marry the person with the biggest house, then supervise a mysterious accident, and voila, the house is yours...

I think there is a big possibility that actually we will be able to change things or even have our own designs in the future... some things might go through DLC's. At least this is what I think... Anyway.. +1 to OP I have a cottage as well and would love to have different layout :)

That would be wonderful!

Having a predetermined floorplan probably makes the child AI much much easier to program. I hope it will be possible to allow us the freedom described by OP, but also realize it may not be feasible. Fingers crossed that it will happen!! ...bathroom facilities too. :)

I'd say that if you have a spouse room, there should also be a farmer room, apart from the parental bedroom.

The thing I dislike most about the current version is that if you do want a spouse, but not kids, you're left with two black voids in your house. It looks ridiculous. It's also superweird to have a spousal room that's just there if you haven't a spouse yet or simply don't want one. The stairs are also very inconveniently placed here.

House looks most decent right now after second upgrade (with the kitchen). So if you just want to stick on your own, I'd never upgrade the house ever again.

I agree. Bachelor farmers are way better off without the weird upstairs. The staircase gets in the way of decorating the area on the ground floor as well. I keep the original area as a lounge, with the fireplace, armchairs etc. I like to keep the area in front of the door as a bedroom, so I can hop into bed super quick if I arrive home late. I use two room dividers vertically, to section off the kitchen area.

In role playing mode, I can have a lovely time with all my besties, without being disloyal to my spouse. Perfick :parksmiley:

I would love a lot more rooms. And the possibilitiy to decorate it, and so: LOT MORE FURNITURE. :heartfull:

So you have something to spend money on. Right now I have A LOT of money and I don't know what to do with it.

The house is less of a house and more of a nightmare. I regret upgrading it to 3. I don't want a spouse or kids. I just want to play farmer, not mom. The whole house seems rather pointless as well. I'd much rather decorate it myself than have a design forced on me with a bunch of equipment that has no function other than to show me that I have it. The cookbook and the store do a good enough job of telling me what I have and don't have.

Allowing us to decorate unused rooms would be much better than looking at blanks as well. I would also much rather NOT see the entries to other rooms that don't exist.

Just to remind this problem. :faerytree:

Yesssss! And the floor tiles... they're so clunky when placing. I placed the tiles on a room and had to buy another one and accidentally placed it over the last one :steamfacepalm: had to buy a THIRD one...

Our homes definitely need more customization. I will probably not have more than one child. So being able to use the other room for other things is a no brainer. But I also feel that all the other homes are SO much more put together than I can remotely make my own house. Yeah, you can buy expensive furniture, but it's stupidly hard to place, you can't center things so they look right, all the things on the walls hang too low, and there are so many details in other townie's houses that flesh them out into real homes. Not all the townies have fancy houses, although a lot of them do, but at least they look "right" for the people living there. A number of them are just gorgeous. We need more detail and more options.

Also, my new dog goes upstairs a lot and stares into the big empty black holes in the walls where the kids would eventually be. It's as if she's waiting for them. Lol Those holes shouldn't exist until you add the kid's rooms. Looks like you have entrances into dark and dangerous places in your house.
