I lost my old save file, if I start now what's the most efficient way to farm money for 1.0?

I last played ages ago and since got a new computer. My save file is gone. I intended to start over from scratch anyway, but a bit of starting gold for bag space would be nice. What's a good money-making plan?

Spam quick growth crops if youre able, use the money to buy and re-sell seeds to sam. the money you get will be total earned, not cash on hand

Ty! I have 110k to start my new game with. I did farm up a bronze watering can and had a 3 x 3 basic scarecrow setup. I planted potatoes for the spring, and them selling them and buying seeds, selling seeds, and going through the seed selling loop until nothing was left. Diving wasn't worth it for sprinklers, as you'll need silver. Just posting for anyone else who's up for some last-minute moneyfarming!

Well, it's probably too late now to do this, assuming you've gotten this far in the EA version, but I spent the last 2 days finding osmium kelp and making it into essence to gain as much money as possible (along with selling off all the contents/artifacts from all the 'goodie coffers & chests') I went from $350, 000-ish to $757,030. I finally quit about 3:00 this afternoon. For the early part of the game, I'd suggest you to forage as much as possible - including seashells at both sections of the beach and cutting down as many trees as possible, and not just those on your own farm. And before you finally quit, sell everything, even the wardrobe and fireplace in your farm and even any rings that you wear. Also, shake all the coconut trees (depending on the season) that you can find.
