Maple seeds can't be offered?

I got maple seeds in my inventory and the area where it says offered is grayed out so I should be able to offer it somewhere, but none of the four shrines at the lake wants maple seeds? Is this a bug or are there shrines somewhere else that I haven't discovered yet?

Check the crop altar; essential resources. You need 5 to offer.

You've probably already completed the altar, you only need 5 of the 7 options.
