NPC personalities (mostly romancible)
I've noticed that since the update several NPCs seem different than they were before.
Examples:
Pablo used to be a bit flirty compared to others, now he only talks about Antonio's shop or Rafael being "a wiz" as blacksmith
Sarya used to be a bit shy, he was always flustered when you gift him something. I personally loved it a lot
Rafael had very shy line if you give him favorite gifts

Now all of them look neutral even when you give them something they like. They all seem too neutral no matter what they say or what you do. All they talk about town's rank (even about town ranks that were reached looong ago, like D, when I have an A) or roots being gone over and over and it's kind of upsetting and demotivates to interact with them at all

Is it a bug or a intended changes?

I have no idea if it's a bug or an intended change or some sort of placeholder until they've written more dialogues/lines but I've noticed it as well. I need to make progress on the NPC relationships but it's become less enjoyable

Someone mentioned in another thread that dialogues are 'catching up' to newly implemented stuff. If you'd started a new file, the dialogue would be progressing more naturally. As it is, they've got to run through the whole gammit and talk about every town rank until they catch up to where you are at.

That makes sense. Unfortunately my NPCs seem to be stuck on the same dialogue instead of actually catching up. Might sort itself out eventually

It's because you're continuing an old save. You're going to find the same thing with 50 million cut scenes one after another that seem out of order.

In a new save, these would all happen organically in order, but in an old save they're all triggered already from your progression, so they're all going to hit you at once and seem strange.

I hope they'll catch up eventually, but for now they seem stuck in the same events. I've seen so many lines about roots being gone from the same characters, I'm not sure if they stuck or not

what about emotion expressions though? it shouldn't be related to these events, but to the item I give

As long as this don't become like animal crossing became with animal crossing new horizon, I'm good.
