Ocean exploration issue - no access to the kingdom gate

Can anyone give me a hint as to what to do at this point? I have activated all the solar orbs in the two zones, but after the root retreated, I have this message saying "There is a mythical barrier preventing you from entering.". I went to the lab, ended the day, etc., and found no trigger for the next step of the quest.

Did you reset your diving point and go to the 'barrier' again? That might trigger it

Just tried this, it didn't work, the barrier is still there.

I tried using a backup save and redo the final three orbs, but it led to the same problem. Also to note that the last root just disappeared without an animation. I will try doing it with the save before that one next.

Ah, no. None whatsoever, but I cannot reach the platform to even see the gates.

Fixed: by replaying an old save that did NOT have me sleeping between the orb activation and path-clearing plus going to the temple, the bug disappeared.

Have you finished one of the offering sequences at the temple's altars?

If it's the purple mist, go do one goddess offering.

If it's the big black root with little red Xs over it, you're missing either an orb or upgrading your suit.
