Is there a way to get Osmium Kelp in the current build?
As the title says... Is there a way to get Osmium Kelp in the current build?

I have the recipe to craft automatic fertilizer & seed planters now, so I would like to start adding them to all my sprinklers. I was given a few as a milestone reward in the Museum, but will I have to wait for a future undersea update. Maybe it will be part of the Mer Folk update?

There are two ways - donate to the museum to receive it as a reward.
Complete the precious gems alter to get the Slime of Replication, use it to make more osmium kelp.

Raise your combat skill to get the Slime of Transmutation and put gold kelp into it.

Thanks Piper, I forgot about the Slime of Replication. I've been using mine to generate lots of Pink Diamonds for Enchanting. As soon as it's finished with the current batch, I will swap in one of the Osmium Kelp I got from the Museum, after I got to 300 donations a little while back.

I've been trying to raise my combat skills since day one, but progress is sooo slow.
Most of my other skills are Level 9, but my combat skill is still only Level 4... I might just spend most of the next Winter Season in the mines, and see if I can boost it up to get the Slime of Transmutation as well.

let me save you the trouble. i think combat xp is bugged af, i have spent a whole week (50% game speed) in the mines, not even making near half a level from 5 to 6. You need to get to level 8 and xp requirement only increases. I mean if you are willing to put in that much effort go for it, but i think its either bugged like i said or they did it on purpose to prevent players from unlocking more than 1 slime of replication at this point in the game.

Thanks for the heads up. I think I will focus my game play on something more fruitful. Seems like a waste of time trying to farm monsters for xp atm. Hopefully the devs will adjust the rate of xp gain in a future update or patch.

For those wondering

275 donations unlocks the osmium kelp

300 is a garbage auto sprinkler thing

Not at 325 yet (don't think I can either I don't have enough left to get there)

Honestly not sure what I'd even use sprinkler III's for right now. They're really expensive. And they are a bit awkward to use with Ordinary scarecrows. I'm guessing next big update we'll get a tier 3 scarecrow that will make more sense with these sprinklers.

There's a nice looking way to use scarecrows (with the 11x11 range), in conjunction with Tier 3 sprinklers (with their 9x9 range). Use the sprinklers spread at their most efficient spacing, and use an 11x11 scarecrow on the tile immediately behind each one. You overlap the scarecrows a little but it looks neat and tidy. The scarecrows are so easy to buy, that it doesn't really matter if you end up using a couple more than you would ideally need.

The major benefit of the Tier 3 sprinkler, is to have some tough objectives to go for in the late game, where you've completed most (if not all) of the available objectives and tasks. I find it hard to play any game without clear goals to aim for, so this works for me. I like the fact that it will probably take me longer than an in-game year to set up ten Tier 3 Sprinklers with Auto Fertiliser / Auto Seed Dispensers on top.

Eventually I aim to have a crop field 18x45. This will give me enough space to feed my ever hungry artisan machines with the best possible crops all year round.

Ben sometimes sells fancy scarecrows at his caravan that have a 15 x 15 range, but I guess they would still be an awkward fit.

Not anymore :( He stopped selling the cool monster ones in the Summer update. you can still get one at the furniture shop, though.

The only scarecrow that would make sense with the Osmium Grade Sprinklers would need an 18x18 footprint. But in reality it would need to be 19x19 if it were to give full coverage to 4 Osmium sprinkers arranged in a square pattern.
