I did some research and found out it was nerfed. I have now had ONE all season, and I didn't realize it was so rare so I sold it directly instead of honeyed it. The spawn rate for it is RIDICULOUS. I literally found one on the first of fall and now it's the 22nd. I look every day. None.

I think the old spawn rate was OP, but the devs have lowered the rate too far IMO. It used to be fun, to do the rounds every day, looking for the odd one or two that spawned. Now I don't even bother looking.

I have completed fall. I didn't find a SINGLE second one.

I'm not sure they nerfed it. Over several saves and many years, there were several years I got only one and several more I never found any. I've never once found more than one in a season. So I think it's always just been an insanely low chance of spawning one.

I can positively confirm the spawn rate was drastically reduced from what it was originally. I used to collect each one I found over an entire season in a special chest. Year one I found 16, so that's about one every two days. Year two I found 14. That's about the same. Year three I found 4. Year four, I stopped looking, as there were better things to do with my time, plus they took forever to turn into Honey.

When did you start playing?

Maybe like 30 hours in alpha, but 280 hours in early access since the day it dropped. This is over maybe 5 different saves, the longest save is 4 years. I've also played in both update betas so far.

And across all of that, I've never gotten more than one flower a season. I even went on asking for photos of them thinking maybe I'm just missing them. Nope, they simply never spawned for me. And I pick up everything every day, so there was room.
