The 0/2 gifts keeps track of the two weekly gifts you give to THEM, not gifts they give to you.
Keep an eye on some of the NPC shops, you can randomly find things there needed to complete the shrines. You may also get some as rewards for donating to the museum.
Goats are not in the game. Only sheep and ducks have been added. You can reach B, but nothing unlocks.
The underwater map has been slightly reworked to make room for the Merfolk Kingdom. The deeper levels have not been removed, you can still access everything you could before, minus the shrine behind the beluga that has been broken since the feedback update. They just walled off that little section.
Many of the makers are not yet in the game to craft, but you can get them as rewards from completing sections of the shrines.

What do you mean trees aren't in the game yet?
They are fruit plants, not trees, they will wither out of season and you'll have to chop them down. Trees will be added later. So don't worry about doing the tree upgrades with your kelp, just do the plant ones. Everyone keeps calling them trees, but they are not. They are plants.
Edit - why are you posting wiki posts that have nothing to do with the game?
Well that is garbage design, they take a third+ of the month to grow, pop fruit out every 3-4 days so barely recoup the cost of the seedling, and time + seedling they are negatives great
Do they at least recover if you leave them until their season pops up again?
The wiki posts are to show that all three examples are trees.
But then a game where you chop monsters up, cows eat the same feed daily as chickens, and 50% of the time you dive underwater the entire world crashes... I guess reasonable is meh
Edit - OIC that is just dumb... super costly, low return, large space required beasts
The fruit plants/trees are best for the greenhouse which you get later. The don't wither in there after the seasons since they are protected from the weather/cold. That's where you get the best return on your money.
If you plant them outside and leave them throughout the year they will not come back the next season of theirs, I tried (mainly because I didn't realize you could chop them down to remove them LOL!).
Are the merfolk in the game yet? Besides the 2 that you see the first time you get to the deep?
Merfolk aren't expected until the full release update.
Edit - sorry, I misread. Merfolk festivals and extras are full release. Merfolk and the kingdom are two updates from now, so 4-6 months? Ish?
I tried to plant them inside and it wouldn't allow me so I figured that was a no go
Maybe just a bug with the zone for it
Yup, you can. They need a 2x2 space. And they still need to be watered, but they won't go out of season in there.
Did you have a sprinkler nearby? I found that around the sprinklers it can be a little bit difficult to find the right spot maybe.
