This game has significantly more things to collect than Stardew Valley, so it ABSOLUTELY should have higher rates of obtaining things to balance that out. Hell, they could even add a charged pickaxe swing that functions like every other tool has, which would likely help significantly (if they at least fix the drop rate)
So when you combine these two posts with other experiences, I'm starting to notice a pattern. I suspect that what might be happening is SOMETHING is broken with the enchantment, which is essentially causing the "rare drop" to always be essence or fossils rather than geodes, resulting in basically 0 geodes and tons of fossils+essence. Hopefully a bug they're aware of then.
They won't be aware of it unless someone tells them.
Ah. When I've spoken with them, it was directly by email to their support group. *shrugs*
