Has anyone accessed the Dig Site after the update?

I thought the Merfolk and Fall Update means I can access it because all the fishes and insects needed for the bundles already exist.

I mean, you still have to get the things and trigger the cutscene.

Well yeah it’s in the game now but you have to meet certain conditions to have unlocked it

I know the conditions: completing the Fish and Insects Sesajens.
What does the Dig Site do? Is it just the absolute best source for Fossil Nodes?

I was at the dig site and used the hoe to uncover what looked like osmium ore, but i could only pick them up not mine them, and they turned out to be different things despite the way they looked. There wasn't much of worth for me there but I've only been once

I guess that area is still a work in progress area so it might be a little underwhelming at the moment

The dig site is very much a WIP (and before anyone asks, the Savannah is not even in the game yet, even though you can technically "unlock" it via the temple).

I thought they'd have it ready by now with all the insects and fishes implemented.
