My steam deck goes crazy

Hi! I've been playing this game a bit and I love it!! It runs great on SD. However, the fan is acting crazy. In areas like in the mines, it gets really loud - is there a way to calm it down? I don't have this problem with other demanding games like Teardown, etc.

i run the game at 40fps on steam deck and have the settings to a medium high mix, set your TDP maunally to around 10watts and the fan shouldnt come on at all

I have the same issue. My deck sounds like it does when playing Cyberpunk or other large games. I will try these settings. Can I ask what TDP means?

you press the 3 dots button on steam deck looks like this ... and that opens a menu, look for the battery icon and that should bring you to the performance menu, scroll down that menu and select thermal power limit (TDP) and maunally change it to around 10w, you cant max the games graphics out but you should be able to play it on medium settings with around 40fps performance, you can always up the TDP higher but then the fans may kick in to cool the deck down

Actually I’ve just tested it and if you set the ingame graphics to medium you can actually run the game at around 7w of power which means the fans 100% won’t come on and also means it will give you more battery life and more play time but play around with it see what suits you best if you want high or ultra graphics you will need to up the TDP more then likely but I think medium on the steam looks great still

I tried running graphics on low for a bit but the stone tiles and stone path do not show , seems like some textures do not show up or they disappear , the stone path was still there I could pick ax them up but they were not able to be seen and in some areas such as around the waterfall going to your house the fan does kick on more . I have had my deck once crash due to running out of memory and it shut the deck off completely .

I forgot to answer, setting the TDP to 10 solved my problem.
