Additional Romance Options

Before I start, let me go ahead and say I am extremely happy with the number of romance options we are going to have in this game. The variety is the best I have seen in any farming sim I have played, even better than any dating sim tbh.

Anyways, I was wondering, how does everyone feel about possibly adding more options?

When I first started playing I was immediately drawn to Antonio and was sad to find out you can't romance him but you can romance Suki which I thought was a bit odd. But he would be my top pick for a new romance to be added.

My list of new romances would be:
-Antonio
-Raina
-Karen
-Derek (I think) (The construction dude you see briefly)

I know it's farfetch'd for some of these but what do you all think?

Most games like dating or farming with romantic options try to give you the option to choose characters that suit your taste, for that reason they are all so different; Theo is a musician, Scott is an Archaeologist (somewhat flirtatious according to his dialogue), Wakuu is reserved and so on; I think the singles available are pretty well done.

Personally, adding Derek as a suitor would be almost the same as going out with Scott (at least physically) I feel that the only one that could be interesting to add would be Antonio, but he has a partner as he explains in his dialogues when he meets to the player.

Personally, I think they should add more gameplay options with the couple you choose, for example: assign them the task of feeding the animals for you or collecting the crops that are ready, some of these things are already done by Stardwe Valley but I think It will add more immersion to the game to know that the person you were so hard to conquer is now part of your game and actively participates in it (I know you can add tasks to your son) but I think they could also be added with the singles on the island.

I think the reason not to date Antonio is because he doesn't live on the island. At least Nina has a house on the island even though she doesn't live there all the time.

I would find it weird to be able to date any of the Pufferfish people seeing as I would guess that eventually you kick Pufferfish off the island. I don't think that they will add a support Pufferfish option to the game like SDV did but that's just my guess. I don't think either of those characters have a house on the island.

Derek I SO agree with!! From what I remember of the brief sighting he was cute, handsome and funny. I so do NOT agree with the person who said dating him would be like dating Scott! To me they don't seem that similar. Scott is a little more boy next door and Derek is quite hot.

The only thing that kind of bothers me is that there aren't any OLDER romance candidates! Why must every game that has dating in it only have people in the 20-35ish range? Maybe Ben is a little older but come on give me a silver fox!!! For example Judge Ross on the female side would be a good addition if you wanted to date an older female! I wish that Raj had a few wrinkles and a gray streak!!

I find it really strange that no games really have older dateables considering gamers themselves come in all ages. More so now than ever! There are a lot of women gamers and some of them are in their 40s 50s+. We might not want to date 20 year olds even in a game! Give us some people in later stages of life man!

Mark is actually my favorite. I always wanted to date Clint the blacksmith in SDV and was irritated that he wasn't an option. Mark reminds me of Clint, I like him. But I still think he is only in his 30's at most.

Hm I would put him older tbh. End 30/early 40, really. I also think Raj ist late 30s at least. I would argue that from the bachelors, Ben, Mark, Raj and maybe Charles are a bit older. The art style makes it a bit difficult to pin-point the age.
