Change the Flag

I was so hyped for a new farming sim, but I think it would be fun if they added a way to change the town flag. I want to stick a Snowflake or doggo on it

They are not going to change or remove the pride flag. The devs have stated that it is important to them and will not remove it. At best, you could try asking for a flagpole to be added to your farm which you could design your own flag for instead.

That would only work if players could only choose from preset designs. The last thing the devs want is to make it easy for someone to put up an offensive or divisive flag and then post a bunch of screenshots highlighting it. Personally, I like the flag they went with in the town square and am glad they're sticking with it. I don't see how adding a flagpole with the option for a different flag to the farm would enhance the game.

But that would be user generated content, which the devs are not responsible for. I could use crop placement to spell out racial slurs just as easily and screenshot that so where is the difference?

Also, some people love their flags. Some want to show their patriotism. Some want to show their individuality. Some just like to design. Making a farm flag would allow that. Besides, if the pride flag is there because it is an important thing the developers want to display in their game, why does that same logic not apply for the players. Some might want to be able to display in their game what they find important or meaningful.

No that is not an answer, that is an excuse, and a flimsy one at that.

I did not suggest taking away from the devs intent by changing/removing the pride flag. That was OP. I asked for a creative outlet to allow for player flags on their own farm, which leaves me confused. Isn't gathering feedback and suggestions kind of the point of the forums here? Or do you think our purpose here is merely to grovel at the feet of the almighty devs and hope their vision is close enough to what we want?

Flimsy? How is it flimsy if they have total control over their own product? It's something that is important to them, they put it in, they want it kept in. What you can do is not purchase their game and support them. You're allowed to suggest alternatives, but the devs have made it clear that this is important to them and it's unlikely to be changed.

First off: you are clearly not reading before responding. I have already said that I'm not the guy asking to change or remove the flag here. That was the topic creator and I told him the same thing you just said now. I don't care at all about the pride flag. It doesn't bother me a bit. Hell, in over 200 hours of gameplay, I have noticed that flag all of twice. That is how little I care or it stands out.

I only offered and alternative that if he really wanted to make his own flags that he should try asking for a flagpole for the farm and the ability to make one for that. You seem to have me confused with the first guy and are arguing against me as though I were them.

Most likely workaround for this is to wait until the full game has released and someone creates a mod to change out the island's flag. I'm pretty sure someone will do so, I'm imagining.

I hope so. I dont like the flag at all, personal taste and reasons for it and I would love a mod to change it or a feature. It was a great thing in animal crossing games too, to change such things as they represent your game/story

keep ur expectation low about mod. because few days after the game released back then, someone make a mod of the flag. and the mod had been removed, the creator had been banned in n*xus. if Iam not mistaken.

I my self will rebuy the game if the flag changable. but I doubt it.

geez. I just want to put my beloved country's flag (the same country as the devs) in there.

There's nothing wrong with asking that. sometimes you just want to look at something else for a little while.

Minecraft lets players design banners and Animal Crossing lets people design flags and shirts. Minecraft does it with preset templates but you can mix templates to make almost anything. So it can be done safely but it's a lot of work for a minor benefit. Probably better off hoping for a mod to put up your own flags or banners.

There's nothing wrong with asking that. sometimes you just want to look at something else for a little while.

their kind of people really need a rehab. always playing victim. they 'assaulting' other people just because other people doesnt have the same preference (that contain their identity) as them.
