fruit trees dying at end of season
Why are my fruit trees dying at the end of the season? Trees don't die - they just go dormant and don't produce fruit until the next fruiting season. Also, after they are grown shouldn't they be self sufficient?

It's because they are considered fruit plants and not trees. Fruit trees haven't been added to the game yet.

Literally spent thousands on Rambutan and Banana Trees only to wake up in Fall and see them all wilted... I figured by logic they would remain forever as well but the game rlly said no ma'am.

Oh, that is unfortunate. I hope they address this sooner or later.

There's nothing really to address. The fruit plants wither out of season, the fruit trees will be permanent. The trees just aren't in the game yet. You can put your fruit plants in the greenhouse, if you want them to last forever.

If this is intended as some kind of nod to realism, bananas come from trees, not plants.

Depending on your climate the entire plant may die back, as is what happens to mine, but then it completely regrows -- bigger -- the following year (each stalk can grow more than 30cm in a day).

I've never made it past the first spring of CI, so I don't know what kind of winter it is supposed to have, but based on the other trees/plants, banana trees would do very well there. Just saying.

Well technically bananas are a from of grass.

Easiest way to tell them apart...
If they are sold in a white pot, they will die in Winter, unless planted in the greenhouse.
If they are sold in a brown pot, they are ok to plant outdoors, as they are everlasting, (and don't need to be watered).

Almost.

Seedlings (white bags) will fruit for 2 seasons, and die at the end of their seasons, not just when winter hits. Banana seedlings fruit in spring and summer, and then die on the first of fall.
They need to be watered, can be fertilized, and do not need a scarecrow. They must be placed on a 2x2 tilled soil space.

Saplings (brown bags) will fruit for one season, and go dormant for the rest of the year.
They do not need to be watered, cannot be fertilized, and do not need a scarecrow. The are planted right on the ground, untilled. They take up a 3x3 space, but if you are in the greenhouse they do not recognize the outside row. Same on the farm, they do not recognize the outside row of land.
