Ling cut scene doesn't happen.

I forgot to go to the diving pier on the 8th day and now Ling doesn't spawn at the pier to start the cut scene to give me the next task, is there a way to fix this?

The devs have already said that it's fixed, but you'll need a new save. If you missed the cut scene, that save file is broken.

i continued my playthrough from a year ago. And i was on like day 8 or something, and now im on 14.
is that quest important to finish the game or not really?

It really is. You won't get the kelp extractor and you need that for a lot of stuff. It's also the beginning of the entire merfolk quest line.

I'm having the same issue on a new save I just started 2 days ago. The game version I have is v0.5-12.

I don't quite understand; are you asking when I started this save, or the last time I saved the game? I started it only a couple of days ago, like I mentioned in my post. I don't remember exactly what day and time. I last saved the game on 8/28 at 9:47pm CST. Does that answer your question?

I backed it on kickstarter. The local files on my device say they were created on 8/24/23 at 10:23pm CST. I started the game and a new save as soon as it was installed. Does that help?

No, but I'm pretty sure I downloaded it right when I got my key. What difference does that make? I've uninstalled and reinstalled it since then.

Hi CueDash, thank you for your information! The diving quest-related bug, where you were unable to continue or meet Ling, is part of a bug the team has solved before.

Unfortunately, since your saves are from an older date, the fix won't be able to fix the problem you already have. I suggest you to start a new save, as continuing your affected saves will continue giving you problems with the diving-related quest

I don't understand. My saves are from 11 days ago. The problem was fixed that recently? Like I said, I didn't even have the game installed 2 weeks ago. When I installed it, I deleted my saves and started a new one, because I assumed the game wouldn't be compatible with my old saves. My oldest save was *started* on August 24th, 2023. Are you saying the issue has been fixed after that?

2. - as far as I know, if you do not go see Ling the day you get the letter to see her, there is no fix other than starting a new save and making sure you are there on time. I do not recall ever seeing any fix for this mentioned in any of the change logs (although to be far, there are a freaking ton of them)
