Question is why someone would pay 50% more for a juice rather than a fresh fruit, but I think the bottle has a "superfood" sticker on it.
I also have to make sure to sell at Sam's, because I over fill my shipping bin every day.
After playing several more days of the update, I REALLY hate how long it takes for artisan goods to be produced. With three hens and three cows, I'm taking in 3 eggs and milk every day. It now takes my mayo, yogurt, and mason jars an entire day to make 1 yogurt, butter, or mayo. I am shipping a third or less of what I was every day if you factor in the kegs and beehives. I was looking forward to decorating my farm now that I've got 9 kegs, 8 beehives, and a couple of the other artisan machines running. But instead I'm having to build more chests to hold all the raw goods I was processing before. Or I'll have to sell them for much less cash. I think this is now out of balance. Curious to see what others think.
Currently sitting at 3.2 million monies
20 beehives
69 kegs
45 mason jars
and this really isn't enough to keep up with crop production from 37 level 1 and 46 level 2 sprinklers with the artisan production being slowed.
As I don't really get much in the way of production from my animal buildings I will be selling off the animals and buildings to make space for more hives, kegs and jars.
Of course the alternative option is to reduce crop production to match current artisan production rates but that would likely mean reducing my crop area by about 50-60% but I like to utilise as much farm space as possible.
Biggest issue I find with this is the mastery levels have now been locked at 5 so I have lost 5 levels from all the mastery lines losing access to the loom etc so I can't make more to expand production of these products.
I can see why it's been done to essentially extend the playtime required to reach higher tiers and get to end game and give people something to keep working for but it is just a little annoying losing access to something that had already been unlocked.
On the bright side it could have been worse, there could have been a forced wipe of peoples saves. That would have made me stop playing for quite a while as I wouldn't want to start again with the current changes to artisan timings knowing what it was like previously.
There is of course a solution they could give us a farm building option to put our artisan machines inside that has a bigger internal space compared to the external footprint, a few of these would allow more artisan machines to be installed without sacrificing too much external space that could be used for other things like animals, decorations and tree growing. Although to be fair i'm not sure what they have planned for future development there could be a level 2 version of the artisan machines in the works which would partly explain the changes to the current timings we shall have to wait and see. :)
Now it's back to the farm for me these crops won't process themselves :P
They're basically saying, no, you can't decorate your farm as early as you like, we've gated that now.
Which is also pointless, because we have to fill the farm with artisan makers, so where will there be room left to decorate?
Agree. Also, the problem with slowing cash production via artisan machines is that you can't keep up with the flow of crops and animal goods unless you make scads of machines. I want this to look like a farm, not a factory. I have 12 kegs now, 8 beehives and a few each of the yogurt and mason jars. Only 2 mayo makers. Honestly , I don't want any more. I have one loom, which it seems I was lucky to keep, and an oil maker. This was perfectly sufficient to keep my production humming along reasonably well. Probably need a couple more mason jars eventually. This is about all I can keep up with and still have time for other things.
I also want to decorate my farm with areas that aren't devoted to machinery. Like a grove of fruit trees at some point. A little forest. A picnic area. That kind of thing. What's the point of giving us lovely outdoor furniture if we have to take up the whole farm with artisan production? I have about 160,000 in cash currently. I don't really have the need to become a millionaire. As long as I make enough to buy furniture, clothes, and decorations for my farm I'm happy. But with the way they've changed artisan production, and upped the prices for like everything, it's just going to be frustrating. I'm only making about 680 now for a bottle of wine that takes high quality grapes enhanced by silver kelp essence and takes days to produce in a keg that cost materials to make. It costs that much now for a slice of pizza. How is this logical?
0_0 How in the world do you keep up with that many machines? Or that many crops? I am amazed. Lol. That would make me crazy. Congrats on being a multimillionaire. But you've kind of arrived. Where is there to go from there income wise? You could now lie on the beach with whomever you've chosen as a mate and drink Frank's wine for the rest of the game.
Access to all the level 2 sprinklers and the scythe for harvesting is what makes it easy to keep up with the crops as no manual watering is required beyond repairing any damage from season changes or space junk falling from the sky.
The machines is just practice, timing movement and button pressing to try and be efficient at collecting and refilling the machines without the need to stop too often.
As you've mentioned I have the money in the bank to essentially retire to the beach with an infinite supply of wine, beer and sake so once i've finished testing to see how many of each machine is needed to keep up with my crop production now the machines have been slowed i'll probably shrink my farm down to just 6-8 level 2 sprinklers outside and the 6 in my greenhouse and however many machines are needed to keep up with them and probably just leave the rest of my farm to it's own devices.
That way I can spend more time just enjoying the island and the seasonal activities as they get added to the game and the farming will just become a secondary activity.
