Cant place home decor

I got 2 home decor items from sam but it wont give me any option to place them. i got the first home upgrade where i got the tv and i tried using P in my home but theres no option to place them or even put them in my home decor storage. Its the classic lamp and decorative vase

Maybe they're meant to slot on top of items like tables or dressers, can you try that?

Nope doesnt work. its a big vase and a tall standing lamp :(

I placed a calendar. When I have it selected in the hot bar, it showed a little red box. When I got close to the wall it let me place it. Sadly though.... the calendar is either bugged, doesn't have a function or I put it in a bad place. If it was the last reasoning, then I really messed up. I don't know how to pick the damn thing back up. I whacked it with all my tools -_-

hm I think if you press P you go into 'build mode' which lets you rotate and move all the objects freely as well as put them into storage
Some items are just totally bugged though - I bought a floor lamp which doesn't have its own picture and isn't available to place.

Thanks I'll try that when I play more tomorrow. Hope they add mini tutorial later In development for it, ain't seen anywhere explain about a build mode.

I bought the cabin hanging plants from Ben's shop, but can't place it, is it one of the bugged items or am I missing something? I tried decor mode inside but it was greyed out, I assume it is an outdoor item, but I can't see how to place it there either.

When you're inside your house, press P (the icon and button are shown in the bottom right corner of the screen), and that will pop you into Furniture Placement mode. From there you can move, place, and store the items in your home.

Ran into a similar problem -- didn't realize, but you must have collected the 50 wood, 20 rock, and then visited the carpenters to get the house finished being repaired first. Once complete, you can then enter Decor Mode via "P."
