Hay and Silo.

So obviously you get hay from processing grass, but where do you process it? and buying a grass starter (which you do to specifically get grass) gives you like 99% fiber. Built a Silo, can't store hay from inventory there (not even when I cut grass near it does it add anything). Does anyone know how I can get my damn hay?

(since the game has clearly some major SDV references and similar mechanics, I've been assuming that's how you get hay.)

the mill used to process grass but after the update you now need a dehydrator to make hay, it takes two grass to make one hay stack. once you've made hay using the dehydrator you can store in the silo. the mill is now used to make flour. hope this helps :)

There is literally no need to ever buy or make hay. You get thousands from cutting grass around the island for free. I have no idea why everyone is freaking out about this. I could not possibly use all the hay I currently have stored.

you dont understand there is no grass to cut around town, it's all fibre. maybe its on gamepass version?

what do you do to make alot of money? because they nerf alot of the selling price of stuff

In one version it's grass, in another version it's fiber, both are the exact same thing and cutting it down also gives you hay.

I still make money the same way I always did, just sell everything. Forage everything, collect everything in the ocean, throw anything you can through a mason jar or keg to increase the profits. You can still make a couple grand a day and that's plenty to get the buildings and upgrades you need.

One of the most profitable produce for now I think it's sugarcane to make cane nectar, and my personal fave was large milk into large yogurt.

Grass turns into either fibre or hay upon cutting (sometimes into nothing). You can process fibre into hay in the dehydrator (used to be the mill, they changed it in the update). Except for winter, you can find grass all around the island to cut and you can buy and plant grass starters on your farm. If you don't let your animals out, the grass starter will slowly spread grass - as it will spread if you don't cut it all back elsewhere. In addition, cutting seaweed underwater can also bring in fibre.

Again: you will never have grass in your inventory (unless you buy a grass starter, then you will have that). You will either get fibre or hay from cutting it.
