Hay and Silo.

So obviously you get hay from processing grass, but where do you process it? and buying a grass starter (which you do to specifically get grass) gives you like 99% fiber. Built a Silo, can't store hay from inventory there (not even when I cut grass near it does it add anything). Does anyone know how I can get my damn hay?

(since the game has clearly some major SDV references and similar mechanics, I've been assuming that's how you get hay.)

My mill says 50 grass to 50 hay, I can't actually place the fiber into the mill, but the two grass pieces went in just fine. Is there a menu toggle or research for it? Hay research maybe? Actually, Ling's lab has something with hay.

It's 50/50 when you get the Mil, if you go inside your Coop or Barn, your able to go to that box ( that is other games is sometimes an autofeeder ) and you can pull the Hay out of your Mill through there. Silo just increases it to 150, i don't think there's an auto-feed function, havent found it yet.

It confused me, until I went in the barn to look at the box and found out i could pull Hay out of it.

I'm aware of the rest. It's a useful feature to be able to mostly ignore the mill and pull straight from the barn. Sadly as mine requires grass I'm afraid it serves to purpose for me as grass is very rare to find.

Seems like there are a few ppl that are having the same issue, haven't seen a fix to it either. maybe try demolishing the mill and rebuild it?

I assume it's another "Gamepass version isn't patched yet"-thing, like replacing the anchor while diving.
I just give it time to cook a little.

Is game pass having issues with the diving anchor? Cause I can't move mine. Which makes diving tedious. But I have cleared 17/20 so far.

Yeah, the game pass version gets grass to hay, the steam version is fiber to hay.

The diving anchor placement also don't work on game pass. It's a shame that the game pass version doesn't specify that it's the alpha version.

Yes, the mill now acts like a mill should, and makes different types of flour. Hay is now made in the dehydrator, but honestly, you should have 10 times what you need just from cutting the grass around town.

thanks where do i get the dehydrator? i will try cutting grass but im only getting fibre

wow they really messed this game up, the dehytrator only makes 5 hay at a time, we are better off buying the hay from the ranch shop, they also nerferd so many things that you can sell for a good price that sells for pennies now

There is literally no need to ever buy or make hay. You get thousands from cutting grass around the island for free. I have no idea why everyone is freaking out about this. I could not possibly use all the hay I currently have stored.
