Giving up on Rove Beetle/Coral Island

I'm giving up on Coral Island for awhile. I just spent 14 nights trying to catch the Rove Beetle. I thought it was me. But this time a) I snuck up on it, b) had it in my cone of catching and c) it was highlighted. Three times the beetle was in the cone and highlighted and I still could not catch it. I've had the same problem with the Atlas Moth. Until the developers make this work consistently. I'm giving up with game. It is too frustrating.

Sometimes it's just the fun - making it work despite bugs and glitches.
I guess I have a little masochist streak.

I saw it only once at all (and caught it!) - Garden lane, specifically little path between the farm and the creek on the way to diving site, just left of 3 bird feeders, in Fall, night time.

I've had this same problem with the spider that spawns south of the farm. It's frustrating. I've seen it only once and am not sure I want to wait a whole year to try and catch it then. I did manage to catch the Rove beetle one of the two times I saw it. Both times, it also spawned south of the farm, or perhaps near the southern bird feeders that that town cats like to camp.

They are in Fall and Winter at night. Usually *late* at night.

I saw it there too a couple of times. But, again, highlighted, in the cone and swiping did diddly.
