Fish Tank Fish?

There are a few different types of fish tanks you can buy from both the carpenter shop and then two different ones you can get from the furniture shop but can you put fish in them? And if so is it only certain types of fish? I tried the mantis shrimp but it wouldn't let me interact with either furniture item once I places it down. Has anyone found fish you can put in it?

I think fish tanks are decorative for now, but might allow fish you caught to be placed inside in a future update, or in the full retail release in a year or so. Check the roadmap for what to expect coming soon.

Does the roadmap indicate this will be a feature of the fish tanks in a future update or are you just speculating about this here?

I hope this does become a thing, eventually. I really like the look of some of the fish and would love to display some in my home.

...pure speculation, but always keep an eye on the roadmap to see what's in development...

Does the Dev ever respond back as to whether suggestions will be taken into consideration into possibly being implemented in the future?

Would be nice to get their feedback at some point regarding just such features whether they would actually possibly implement them or not instead of just defaulting to follow the roadmap when the Dev may never address it otherwise if they don't plan on implementing any such feature ever.

We're coming up to 2 years since this topic was first posted. I still can't find a way to put a fish in the tank...

If you can't put your own fish in, I wish it'd at least have a decorative fish/fishes in there. A default appearance that includes fish. I bought this expensive thing and it's not only useless...it looks terrible. Just a big lump of furniture without any purpose or anything pleasant to look at.

Yup. I bought an aquarium yesterday thinking I could put fish in it. I guess not? It's a bit crazy that they still have the aquarium in game if you can't put fish in it. I wish I learned about this game in 2026 because it's looking like the game won't be finished until then.
