Cooking issues

Could anyone help please? I have one recipe from Betty so far and I am trying to make her Mooncake. No matter what I do, it comes out as a failed dish. I have the correct equipment in my kitchen. Also, anything I try and create using the manual function comes out failed too. What am I missing? Many thanks.

I also can't figure it out, and I think it has something to do with the meter at the bottom. I'm sure we're supposed to stop it some place before it gets to the end and burns, I just can't figure out what I'm supposed to do with it yet.

I think I'm just going to turn all the crops I've been saving for cooking into jam and juice and sell it, and worry about cooking after an update. I've been going just fine on candy tree seeds and the hot spring so far.

I agree that cooking seems to be currently broken. hope it gets fixed/completed soon

If there is a bar at bottom you need to click on it in the highlighted area of the bar. try with just one egg in a frying pan(skillet? ) as it's probably a lot less ingredients.

Yeah it took me a while to notice the light coloured part of the bar, when I tried it at first it was near the end, and I thought it was a background gradient, but yeah stop it in that area and you cook your dish.

Grill is broken for me though.

I've failed at everything I've tried to cook, but then again I've never noticed a cooking "bar" so I'll try with an egg and see if it makes a difference. I figured it was broken too. Anyone have any successful recipes in manual?

Ok, I just tried the manual egg and frying pan - no bar at all just instant "Failed Dish"... no timer nothing.
I seriously have no clue how this works and no recipes in my book even though I was given one a while back :(

I can say I've successfully managed to fry an egg I just stopped it half way through the blue area on the bar. The bar appears at the bottom after the ingredients are shown to be put in. I hope it works for others too. Now to experiment with other things!

well sometimes for me easy things like smoothies i can mix and also grilled fish (1 Item Dishes). but i need to be very careful as the mechanics seems a bit broken (sometimes i click on grill and it uses the bowl or automark other items too).

i found also a big spoiler on the Coral Island Wiki for Cooking. But atm. i would only try to grill fish and make smoothies. that gives also a moderate amount of money and with the tealeafs you can make in the keg also green tea for mining f.e or Peperoni Juice (...well it´s cheap to produce xD).

Try the skillet instead ...?

Lucky go to the kitchen and select the manual tab at the top.
Click on skillet presuming you have one allready.Click an egg and it will move it into the recipe boxes on the right. under that click on cook for 10 energy button and then the mini game with slider will appear.
