Steam Deck compatability

Has anyone tried playing this on a steam deck yet? Does it function?

There's a template on there called Devins Coral Layout (with R Joystick Mouse) that works pretty good. Especially with some tweaking you can get really good control.
I made long presses on my left and right triggers for going left and right through menus. Q and R and short presses for changing tools - scroll wheel up - L2 and scroll wheel down R2.

Ok when you highlight the game before you start it click the controller icon to the right. You will see current controller layout- highlight that and click A and you will see templates and to the right will be community layouts. Highlight that and pick your poison.

you can find it under "michelle's coral island steamdeck controls" or something like that.

the game *can* be played, but you will absolutely need to use r-stick or the touchpad when interacting with all menus (this includes inventory management and even just selecting dialogue options, etc). so it's not great and does not feel natural.

in the end, i chose not to continue playing it on the steamdeck as it seems to take a lot of resources resulting in the console heating up super quickly and draining the battery in a little over an hour.

i will just wait for native controller support so my experience is better.

I set up right and left triggers to scroll through tools with a light (Q and R ) press and to scroll through menus I set (mouse scroll up and down) with a full press using the triggers.

Works very good. Hope that makes sense.

As others have said: it does run on the Steam Deck and you'll have to use community controller layouts until they add native support.

However, I think the biggest thing worth mentioning is this game runs HOT on the Deck. Doing just about anything in-game causes the fan to go crazy.

I turned some settings to medium and my deck runs a bit better.
