I cannot launch the game
Hey,

I picked up the game and downloaded it overnight, but the game fails to launch 100% of the time. The (mostly unhelpful) log generated by Windows is this:

I hope you can either help me or push an update that may fix this in the near future.

Thanks.

If Owlboy doesn't open and doesn't given an error message, it's unfortunately hard to diagnose the problem, but these are the ideas I have so far:

1. You can check the Owlboy install folder (usually at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Owlboy ), and check the warnings.txt in the PerfLogs folder. If there's something there, that might help.
2. You can try to verify the integrity of the game cache. You do this by right-clicking Owlboy in the Steam library, clicking Properties -> Local files -> Verify integrity of game cache. This will ensure that it's not a problem with Steam.
3. You can try to uninstall and reinstall the game. It could be that XNA (which we depend on) is not installed correctly on your PC, and this might help.
4. You can try to install XNA manually, in case Steam isn't helping. You can download it from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=20914 and run an installer.

Sorry for the long laundry list, but the problem is pretty broad. If neither of these solutions work, we'd of course be willing to help you get your game refunded if you'd rather do that.

Hey Henrik,

Thanks for your help, option 4 has gotten me into your game.

Thanks for taking your time to help me. I know game dev takes a long time and is bloody hard (I'm personally a professional in the industry) so I know that you taking your time for me here is valuable.

Thanks again
