Devs, if you're reading this, maybe consider a change here. It's a fun mechanic, has the player use everyone in the final fight which is nice, but I don't feel like it's telegraphed very well.
Also you're right, I added a spoiler tag ^^
I didnt really even notice the mechanic because i would always switch shooter based on what i was fighting. I switched between geddy and twig based on what attack he was using and if he left an opening i would get a shot in with alphonse for the extra damage.
I thought it was good. It took me a few goes to figure out what was going on and was more fulfilling than just another straight up fight once I worked it out. That you had to use all 3 companions in the last fight seemed a fitting end for the game.
