Compare it to other arcade indies like Shovel Knight, Hyper Light Drifter, Iconoclasts, Mark of Ninja, Necrodancer, etc, and you'll understand what am i talking about. Even FEZ is better as a platformer, despite the fact it's a game about solving riddles.

Storywise - i don't know. Beginning wasn't prosiming, it was bland, plain, predicitable and uses stanard scheme multiplied million times. You're complete failure, nobody likes you, your world is attacked by evil, and of course you're the only one who can fix it. Dialogs are just painful to read
