I'm on the fence about this game, but have to give it a thumbs down in the end.

Let's start of with the positives: The game has a very charming aesthetic, the soundtrack is great (if not quite small) and it's a very chill experience.

While the game is almost fully voice-acted, it's only voiced by the narrator and his monotone voice. In a way it gives this audio book feel, but at the same time it is a lot less engaging and emotional this way. There are audio books like graphic audio that have individual voice acting for each character + the narrator, so a 30€ game lacking it feels cheap.

The game is also way too easy besides the final boss and a one or two side-challenges. The combat also lacks depth and choice where some skills and combos are just way better than others, but perhaps that was only my experience.

The game is also quite short, doesn't offer much in terms of side-content, is very linear and your choices don't matter except for the very last choice that affects the ending. The story itself was...fine. It wasn't anything special, but had it's moments all the same.

Presentation-wise while the aesthetic is charming the game really doesn't do much with it's format to impress and generally cut scenes are very dry visually. There are no animations, splash arts/CGs and backgrounds are reused and limited. This game screams budget.

In conclusion:
+ Charming aesthetic
+ Good music
+ Chill and laid back game.
~ Combat is hit or miss, personally it lacked choice as some skills were just plainly better to use
~ Story was mostly mediocre
- Too short and content bare for 30€, if interested get it during a sale
- Lacks character voice acting, diminishes the emotional moments and overall engagement
- Lackluster presentation, seems very budget constrained

I don't necessarily regret playing it, as I got it on a sale, but I got the trilogy bundle and kind of regret getting all three now. I feel like playing one was enough, but I might revisit the other two VOC-games someday when I want something chill to play.
