Play Super Cyborg
That was also a one sitting game. If you didn't beat it from the first level through the last in one sitting, you didn't beat it.
I've beaten that game countless times.
So what is better? A game that takes an hour to beat and can be played over a hundred times...yet still be fun? Or a game that takes 50 hours to beat and then you move on?
Which Contra game has a 1cc playtime of 2-5 hours?
You tip the pizza delivery guy less than 5 bucks? 😮
People used to post better games on sites like Kongregate or Armorgames for free.
True, Contra is historically a short game. It's only longer due to deaths.
Contra (about 20 minutes), Super C (about 45), Hard Corps (about 30), Contra 3 (about 30).
Door is to your left. Try not to walk into it or slip on the stairs from all that drools you are leaving behind. People like you need to understand a basic thing: "If you don't have any interest in buying the game, go away."
If you actually own the game and want to whine, go for it - but if you folk want to just go into forums and whine about games you don't want/can't buy - then stop and move on with your lives. I'm so sick and tired of people like this just forming as a cancer on forums and gaming/or any communities.
Just leave. Figure out how to walk away and do so.
Gamers nowadays are used to games having a long duration as a good thing, thanks to open world games, where the majority of the gameplay is getting from point A to B with nothing noteworth happening in reality, and somewhat dull worlds for the most part.
Sometimes less is more, making a level longer won't necessarily make it better.
This is indeed a very short game, with simple controls and mechanics, and I suppose it could use extra modes for more replayability instead, but other than that, it's totally fine.
$20 is a totally fine price for a premium indie game, not regarding playtime, but quality, and this game has tons of it.
The opening intro alone is worth more than 2 Euros, it's nice to learn to give value to other people's work.
I'm not a huge fan of the Contra design, but the game is really well done, it's very polished. Not in league with Huntdown (which is 20 USD as well), but MAYBE nearly there... maybe 15 USD would have been a fairer price (or actually, 20 USD for Huntdown was just a steal, which is a fact).
That phrase was just for the bit. I'm not going to discuss the derangements of the tipping culture in a videogame forum on account of it being as far from the videogames topic as it could possibly be.
