I've been searching for the Werewolf for over an in-game week now, circling the Redwoods fence at night, and haven't found any trace of it. Does it appear in certain areas, after a certain time, or make any sounds? Is there an indicator that it's appearing, like Bigfoot's roar or the UFO?

Got the achievement of werewolf a few minutes ago, I am at day 29/100.
The funny thing is that it spawned in front of my eyes, appears only at night on days of complete sun or sun with few clouds ( you know the thing about the moon that needs to be seen ).
Appears when there is the passage from sunset to evening, a few minutes after the warning that night has fallen. To do first I recommend you start in Redwood at 5PM if you don't care to pick mushrooms.
Leaves no traces and no footprints, the speed of movement is slow but fast if it chases you, doesn't run away but attacks you if it sees you, howls very rarely and emits low growls if you're close, nearby you always find even a wolf.
The point where it appeared is near the fence, to your right on the map, if you divide it in two with a horizontal line, just above. ( in the upper right just above the half map, just before entering that kind of corridor between the mountain of rock and the fence ).
It may be that he may also appear close under the ambulance, as other players claim that he appears on the left side of the river, however always nearby.

I've always found it NE of the camp pre recent update as it always seemed to appear in the same area, but now it seems to roam a lot more, but still find it East of the camp since the new update...

What about UFO? I saw it during a day, took a pic but didnt get any points. Should i wait for it at night?

Thanks, guys! I finally found him! Funnily enough, he spawned right next to a grizzly bear, which was the only other animal I hadn't gotten a photo of. It was a good day of hunting!

I've found that one; the UFO is not the mystery animal, just an indicator that it will appear that night. Wait until after midnight for an alien to spawn at the edge. He'll run away if you get too close and doesn't really make noise. The UFO will send down a tractor beam and he'll try to run into it (you can get abducted if you run into the beam before he does!). Hope that helps!

The horse is your best friend. No I'm serious, because it's bugged, if you're riding, the animals and therefore even the mysterious ones don't run away.
The presence of the UFO does not guarantee the spawn of the alien, so you will have to try again several days , of course days with the UFO in the sky.
The alien appears around midnight and spawns in the grove at southwest on the map, near the tractor with the trailer.
If he sees you, he will escape to the ufo that will use the tractor beam, is not so fast and is also clumsy to walk but you have to be quick to take the picture because the spawn point in the grove and the pick-up point in the field aren't very far away.
This and the rarity of its appearance, make it the most difficult to photograph.

I found my first bear in Redwood Forest but i found it as last animal, on my experience some animals only unlocks at the third half / or near the end of the season, i found the bear after day 70+. But after that, i met more than i wanted, so don't worry.
