I'm on my first playthough and I have a question

I have like 19 days left and I found out that Asterion is on an island. I can recruit a crew or go myself.
Should I wait with this to the very last days until I gain people's trust and so I can recruit them (I currently have only 1), or go there right away by myself? Is the Asterion quest the "main quest" for this game?

It's up to you. If you recruit a crew they will help against most of the challenges, but you can overcome these by yourself if you get equipment and make the right decisions. Either way, you should get most of the useful items and weapons, and bring food and healing potions if you can.

It is likely you learned about one of the tribes who is closely connected to the island. It will be useful if you get their trust.

Wow, you know where he went by day 19? It took me until the day before the last day to assemble my crew.

You CAN do it alone... But your odds are a LOT better with friends and with all the knowledge you can get.

A friend of mine went alone because he didn't have enough allies, and survived on the verge of death (only to die on his last day). I managed to gather my crew, and I made it through without any damage (aside from a potion I took that messed me up the next morning).
