How to increase text / font size on Steam Deck

Login into your Steam Deck in Desktop mode, navigate to $HOME/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Roadwarden/game. Open the screens.rpy file in an editor and search for "style.gui_text". You should find a line like this (line number around 5400):

    renpy.register_style_preference("text", "normal", style.say_dialogue, "font", "philosopher.ttf")
    renpy.register_style_preference("text", "normal", style.say_dialogue, "size", 28)
    renpy.register_style_preference("text", "pixel", style.say_dialogue, "font", "munro.ttf")
    renpy.register_style_preference("text", "pixel", style.say_dialogue, "size", 30)

Change the "28" to e.g. "40" - voila, much larger text.

I can switch to desktop mode, but don't know how to switch to SHOME? And why is an user option missing in the display settings for text size? Small text size is driving me nuts even in steam deck approved games.

Please? I can't figure out to enter those pathes. Do I need to attach a keyboard to my steam deck?
