The developer has no balls to use swastika.
In a historical setting? These are the end of times.

Honestly, I'm on your side. However, at the end of the day, they are a company, and want money, and sales. In order to get the best out of that, they censor the swastika, because some countries wouldn't allow that to be shown in a game, due to its dark place in history. It's a tough decision to make, but if you want games to sell worldwide nowadays, you gotta respect that rule. We may never truly get good historical accuracy again in this day and age.

So make a 5 minute asset swap in those banned countries. This is fear or stupidity, not economical reason. It's 21st century self censorship because now people are afraid of everything, even fictional.

there are swastikas in the game (apart from the DE version).
You got so-called streamer mode in the options menu, it controls the nazi symbols.

Here in Germany swastika are allowed in games. Wolfenstein is uncensored these days.

Yes, there has been a change in German laws that games are nowadays considered as art. (Like films or books). So as long as you don't glorify the Nazis or their crimes (for example when you play as a German soldier.) A good example for the new law can be seen in Call of Duty Vanguard, in the single player campaign where you play allied soldiers fighting the nazis all symbols are uncut. But in Multiplayer where you fight against the Allies (even tho both sides are having allied soldiers and no nazis as characters) the symbols are censored.

Or the newest Sniper Elite game, where you play allied Special Forces, all symbols are uncut.
