i think the game is short
TURN-BASED COMBAT GALORE
We've hand-crafted 31 tactical levels, each with its own twists and interactive environments. Once you complete the main campaign, there are even more challenges to complete.
So, 31 levels, not 15.
As FroBodine stated, there are 31 tactical levels in the game + a whole bunch of small ambush encounters + quite a bit of exploration gameplay.
Our current estimate for playtime based on extensive tests is that the first playthrough should take somewhere between 15 and 20 hours depending on things like skill level, difficulty setting and completion. But we'll see how legions of regular players will fare.
So, not 31 actual full levels. Just 31 battles.
20 hrs for a single playthrough is fine, especially at this price point. Has some replay value too, play with different builds etc.
Sadly not, and the fame bonuses are too weak to warrant another playthrough. As suggested in another thread some passive skills (especially melee damage and movement distance) should be merged and replaced. This would be an opportunity to modify the fame bonuses: + 4 melee damage for all characters, + 1 movement distance for all characters, ... is more interesting than for example - 20 % utility item cost.
The game is organised into episodes (of an in-universe Running Man style TV show), and each episode consists of 2-3 main tactical battle arenas, plus 1-2 optional battles that provide neat rewards (new guns, implants etc) PLUS at least a few shorter ambush encounters you stumble into while exploring the world. And each episode contains a few puzzles that each provide new gear etc. Then between each episode you return to a hub location, chat to team-mates, get some lore etc.
The above numbers may vary as you continue through the game, I've only completed 4 episodes so far, with plenty more to come.
I really like the structure, it's something a bit different to others in the genre.
Seriously, I think there is a good amount of content in the game for this price point, and I really do appreciate the level of detail the handcrafted approach provides. I think it's a really cool game. There's room in gaming for both 100+ hour campaigns through procedurally generated missions (like XCOM2) and shorter, handcrafted games that tell a tighter, complete story that may not necessarily be based around repeated playthroughs.
